On behalf of the Franklin PTA, we would like to welcome you all to the school. We are very excited to meet new families and hope you all get the chance to attend many of our events throughout the year.
This email is to give you some brief information as we prepare to announce all the scheduled 2018-2019 events that your children can participate in, and as well as opportunities for the parents and caregivers. As well as give a quick glimpse into what the PTA is for those that have never been involved in the Park Ridge D64 school district.
BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE PTA
In the next couple of weeks, you will receive an email with details on how to join the PTA. It includes a small membership fee that will last the entire 2018-2019 school year, that helps fund the events throughout the year. As a member of Franklin's PTA you receive exclusive access to our online school directory, private Facebook group, voting privileges, weekly newsletters, and much more! We are very fortunate to have incredible parents within our school that love planning events for the children, and we would love to have all of you involved as well. No pressure, you do not have to volunteer to be a member of the PTA, you can volunteer for as little or as much as you want.
We use an online program called “MySchoolAnywhere” that allows parents to create their own account to login and see details about upcoming PTA events, signup your children for these events, access the online directory, as well as signup to volunteer throughout the year for numerous opportunities. In addition, we have a “pizza Monday” for 1st through 5th graders, watch for details!
ROOM PARENT INTRODUCTION
Something that we wanted to introduce you to prior to school starting, is the opportunity to be a Room Parent for your child’s classroom. This means you can help plan parties throughout the year for the classroom, such as the Halloween and Valentine’s Day classroom parties. There is a certain number of parents that can volunteer and be in the classroom for these events. MORE ROOM PARENT SIGN UP INFORMATION COMING SOON!
