They are identical. Tuesday, March 13, 6:30 – 8 p.m. Lincoln Middle School (Winslow Hall) OR Wednesday, March 14, 6:30 – 8 p.m. Emerson Middle School (Learning Resource Center) District 64 launched a two-year Facility Master Plan process in summer 2011 to help prioritize the “bricks and mortar” needs of schools. The District’s architects, Fanning Howey, will highlight the particular needs that its comprehensive physical assessments have identified at each school thus far. Then, ask questions and offer input about the plan. This will be an essential and far-reaching plan, which will give District 64 a sound framework to better manage facilities in support of quality teaching and learning at our schools for many years to come. A master plan typically incorporates planning for all aspects of the school building’s interior and exterior. See your school’s detailed physical assessment on the District’s website at www.d64.org (Departments/Facility Management) The PTA Executive Board Needs YOU! 02/29/2012
The Franklin PTA is in urgent need of nominees for the 2012-13 Executive Board. The positions of President, Vice President, and Treasurer all need to be filled for the upcoming school year. Per our bylaws, we must have, at minimum, a President and a Treasurer on the board for the PTA to continue. Our bylaws also require that the proposed slate of officers needs to be announced 30 days prior to our May 10 meeting when we must vote in the new board. This means we need to have candidates by April 10. If no one steps forward to join the Executive Board by April 10, we will need to begin the process of closing down the Franklin PTA – something that we would hate to do, but we would unfortunately have to do. The closing of the PTA would mean the end to dozens of programs and activities that benefit Franklin's students, teachers, parents and families in a myriad of ways - more than most people realize. If you want to see the Franklin PTA continue, please step up and serve on the 2012-13 Executive Board. To learn more about the specifics of any board position and/or to nominate yourself for a role, please contact current President Janet Mital, current Vice-President Michele Navarra, or current Treasurer Vickie Nelson. This past Tuesday, January 10, we started delivery of Order Block 2 (delivery from January 10 - March 20, 2012) for Pizza Day. We had some children come to school without lunches, thinking that their orders had been placed, when they had not. Ordering for Pizza Day Block 2 has closed and will not be reopened. If you did not purchase Pizza Day Order Block 2, please remember to pack a lunch for your child on Tuesdays. Again, on Thursday, January 12, when we served our first "Just Try It" in January Meal, we had some children come to school without lunches, thinking their orders had been placed, when they had not. Some of this confusion likely arose from the debut of our "Just Try It" program. "Just Try It" was offered – at parents' request – to allow students to try a meal once and see if they like it before the parents committed to purchasing a full order block of it. Parents have a week after each Just Try It meal to purchase the full order block on the PTA Web Store. While the delivery dates for Thursday lunches in Order Block 2 were clearly listed on each item description, and a reminder that the "Just Try It" meals needed to be purchased separately was also stated, some parents may have overlooked these details. Please remember that the Just Try It meals are SEPARATE from Order Block 2's delivery dates. If you did not purchase the Just Try It Meals for your child, remember to pack lunch for him/her on January 19 and January 27! You can confirm your purchase details by visiting the Franklin PTA Web Store. Once there, click on "My Account", enter your email and password, then click on Order History to see a list of all your transactions. All orders made through the Franklin PTA Web Store also generate itemized receipt emails, which you can refer to if you are uncertain about which specific lunches you purchased. Simply do a search for messages from "info@franklinpta.com" in your inbox. In your mad rush to wrap those last presents and clean the house for guests, did you not get around to ordering your children's lunches online? Well, the PTA has a little gift for you: we have extended the ordering deadline to Monday, December 26 at 11:59pm! Place your orders now so your kids won't miss a hot lunch in the new year! Visit the Franklin PTA Web Store (http://franklinpta.revtrak.net) Please note when placing Thursday lunch orders: To offer the flexibility for students to try the Thursday lunch options once in January before committing to a full order block, we have separated the items into single "Just Try It" in January meals and regular order blocks (February - March). If you already know your child will enjoy a particular Thursday meal, be sure to order it for BOTH the "Just Try It" in January AND Order Block 2 (Feb-March) so they will receive the lunch on all the Thursdays it is offered! We don't want any child to miss a meal! Purchase your children's lunches right now so it doesn't slip your mind during the craziness of this weekend: visit http://franklinpta.revtrak.net and place your order. We won't be able to extend the deadline again, so don't delay, order today - and tell your friends about the extension, too! Happy Holidays, The Franklin PTA | |||||
